We planted one of each Gertrude Jekyll (shrub and climber) back in early November 2017 here in the garden at Jardin de la Maison Rose. It’s now the first week of January 2018 and they already have new shoots showing on them. We’re really looking forward to seeing how these two new additions add to the garden this Summer. They seem to be a must have variety with our customers too.
This truly is a beautiful repeat flowering rose that has rich pink rosettes with the quintessential old rose fragrance: superb, strong and perfectly balanced. It’s also a very healthy and reliable rose.
Gertrude Jekyll is an English Rose – bred by David Austin that has be voted twice the nation’s favourite rose by BBC Gardener’s World viewers in the UK as well as RHS Award of Garden Merit.
